From-home access to databases

Using your home computer or laptop, you have access to a number of licensed databases at no charge. Registered borrowers with a Personal Identification  Code (PIN code) who are residents of Copenhagen may read newspapers, check dictionaries, and much more.

The following databases are available through the from-home access program:

Biography database containing information about 1.4 million living and deceased individuals. Full text of articles from 250 journals. Access to Marquis Who's Who.

Two databases searched simultaneously: Contemporary Authors (primarily English-language authors) and Contemporary Literary Criticism (analysis and reviews of contemporary works).

Consumer Reports

References to tests of consumer products on the market.

Current Biography 1940 to present

Current Biography contains approximately 15,000 biographies and 9,400 obituaries. Emphasis on individuals in the UK and US.

The largest collection of information about animals in Denmark. Developed for Danish schools, it covers 560 animals.

Danish Poetry

Registry of poetry collections and anthologies published in Denmark since 1983.

Danish Songs

Index of Danish songs, ballads, psalms, and poems set to music - for children, too.

Do-it-yourself

Index of "do-it-yourself" information going back to 1900. Covers home improvement, gardening, and the practical aspects of woodworking (but not collectibles such as coins or matchboxes).

Europa World Plus - Online

English-language database containing information about more than 250 countries and regions. Broad coverage of politics, history, social and economic development, statistics, etc.
